Welcome. You are entering a hall of survivors.
These gods were carved and cast between the 6th and 16th centuries for temples and homes across India and its neighbours. Over the centuries many were broken in raids, defaced, buried, or carried far from the places they were made for. Some reached museums across the world; one was found in pieces in a village. Yet here they are.
Walk slowly. Each waits in the dark and lights up as you come near.
